Congratulations to Almeda Smith for being selected as a “Behind the Scenes” award winner. This award from the Ohio Provider Resource Association (OPRA) is dedicated to individuals who work “behind the scenes” to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. The award will be presented at the awards luncheon during OPRA’s Fall Conference on November 3, 2017. The following was the nomination we submitted:
“Almeda Smith has been with Heinzerling for 38+ years. She has close relationships with the residents & with several staff. Kitchen staff calls her “Mom.” Not only is she the production supervisor in the kitchen and a certified dietary manager, she also knows the ins and outs of every detail of how the kitchen runs. To this day her standards for the kitchen remain extremely high. Almeda is accountable, keeps her staff accountable and she shows up to work every single day. We are very thankful for her.” Again, congratulations, Almeda! This is a well-deserved honor.
